Laser Rejuvenation

What is laser rejuvenation?

Laser is an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation.

Laser rejuvenation, or fractional C02 skin resurfacing is a treatment designed to significantly improve a range of skin imperfections from enlarged pores through to wrinkles, acne and acne scarring.

It also has a skin tightening effect that helps to eliminate sagging skin, enhance skin tone and boost skin elasticity.

Treatments are typically 45 minutes.

The laser removes the skin layer by layer with precision and the new skin cells that form during that healing give the skin a tighter, younger looking skin surface.

What are your treatments for laser rejuvenation?

At Aurora Dermatology we are delighted to announce the recent instalment of the SmartXide Punto CO2 laser, brings together 30 years of dermatology expertise and aesthetic medicine.

Many patients will experience dramatic results in just one session and this laser allows doctors to:

  • Treat acne scarring
  • Treat wrinkles
  • Treat sun damage
  • Help reduce aging
  • Improve skin texture
  • Assist with skin sagging
  • Help reduce pore size
  • Improve burn scars
  • Reduce Cesarean section scars
  • Reduce surgery scars

The Punto laser achieves performance “never attained before in dermatological practice”, according to its manufacturers.

And can deliver powerful results without traditionally harsh side effects.

What is the post-op protocol for laser treatment?

Post-Treatment Instructions

After C02 laser treatment for rejuvenation, acne scarring or other skin conditions it can take up to 10 days for your skin to heal and there may be some redness for several weeks before it disappears.

Our state-of-the-art laser however uses “dot therapy” which means the downtime with that red raw look is significantly shorter, generally only 3 to four days.
